Pet Siblings Enjoy Piggyback Rides During Family Hikes

When the great outdoors beckon, how do you say no? After moving to Colorado from Massachusetts, Cynthia Bennett and Andre Sibilsky began embarking on outdoor adventures like hiking and trekking. These trips allowed them to have fun and appreciate the beauty of nature at the same time.

Their travels also revealed an adorable new side of their furry friends!

It started when Cynthia and Andre adopted a puppy named Henry, whom they treated as their own child. Henry brought a different kind of happiness to their lives. But as soon as they started going on adventures, Henry began to suffer from serious separation anxiety. He would keep looking for them and pining for their return. To ease his loneliness, they decided to find him a new sibling. A few years later, they took in Baloo, a male cat.

Now, these pet siblings are absolutely inseparable.

Henry is a tall and lanky German Shepherd, Husky, Boxer, Staffordshire Terrier, and Aussie mix. His cat brother Baloo is a Siamese mix. We always thought cats and dogs are mortal enemies, but surprisingly, this pair got acquainted really fast. Their bond is a rare and special treat to behold.

According to Cynthia, Baloo sees himself as more of a dog than a cat.

“If he sees a dog out on a walk, he’ll run up to it, but if he sees a cat he will pretend it isn’t there and ignore it,” she shared in an interview with BBC. “Like, do you not understand what you are? It’s quite funny.”

On their family hikes, both Henry and Baloo have the time of their lives. However, Baloo doesn’t have the same stamina as his brother. He tends to get tired easily.

Being the responsible big brother, Henry lets Baloo ride piggyback for the rest of the hike.

Sometimes, the view is so spectacular that they just have to stop and admire it.

When it’s time for everyone to rest, the two pet siblings still prefer to lie next to each other.

But sometimes, they just like to cuddle with their parents.

Recently, Henry celebrated his 6th birthday with Baloo.

They also like to dress up and match their outfits.

The adorable pet siblings have a growing global fan club.

Cynthia and Andre are no longer the only ones who get to admire their closeness. Thousands of people from around the world have been appreciating their photos. Henry and Baloo have an Instagram account where all their adventures are documented. The traveling pet siblings show their sweetness and unique admiration for nature, just like their human mom and dad.

They are indeed a perfect match.

“As soon as he met Henry he attached himself right away. Baloo definitely has an obsession with Henry – if I need him to calm down, I’ll put him next to him and he’ll just fall asleep,” Cynthia reveals.

Their friendship is like no other. Henry will no longer be lonely with his loyal companion riding piggyback with him. Baloo, in turn, has a reliable friend to keep him going. They share the most beautiful adventures and moments wherever they may be.
