9-year-old Dane Miller was born with Down Syndrome. But he’s taken his genetic condition in his stride and continues to be a happy, intelligent, and adorable little boy. One day, when he and his mom Dana Miller were running errands in their hometown of Prosper, Texas, the two got stuck in traffic. When Dane began singing Whitney’s 1993 hit “I Have Nothing” as it played on the radio. He sang with so much soul and passion that his mom couldn’t resist filming the entire performance.
Little did Dana know that the video would go viral as soon as she shared it with her friends on Facebook. As of today, the clip has over a million views and counting. It turns out, Dane always had a soft spot for music. His mother shared with TODAY how much the young boy loves putting on a show for his family.
“He’s high-functioning and smarter than we all know,” Dana explained: “He picks up on songs quickly and music touches him.”
Dane picked up the Whitney Houston hit after watching a documentary about the singer. He has been a fan ever since. Dana added that there is “more to come” from this pint-sized performer and that anyone who enjoyed his cover can follow him on the YouTube channel Amazing Dane.
“We just posted [the video] because it is so cute and precious… we’re just so grateful and so happy to share Dane’s joy with people. He has a pureness of heart and a light inside him that is truly infectious,” Danna said.
