For his performance in the show’s finals, Ronan chose the song “Because of You” by American Idol alumnus Kelly Clarkson. Interestingly enough, our own “Mr. Nasty” a.k.a. Simon Cowell was a special judge that day. Simon had famously discovered Kelly Clarkson during her winning stint in “American Idol.”
It seemed like Simon saw the same star power in Ronan that he spotted in Kelly Clarkson. The usually critical judge had nothing but praises for Ronan’s outstanding rendition of the song. That sounds unbelievable, but it’s true! And Ronan more than deserved the accolades. After all, his piece of choice wasn’t the easiest to sing.
Young Ronan’s talent and professionalism were way beyond his years. Though he didn’t win Britain’s Got Talent that year, he went on to sign up with a professional record label. Today, Ronan’s star continues to shine as he makes soulful music for his fans.
