Russian Artist Makes Adorable Animal Toys Which Appear To Be Straight From An Enchanted Forest

Think you’ve seen all that the world of art has to offer? Time to meet a new artist who will surprise you with her unique skill. Yulia Derevshchikova hails from Russia, and her unusual craftsmanship will amaze you! She creates miniature animals out of wool by using a traditional needle felting technique and dry wallowing.

Yulia meticulously fuses the wool fibers together, which results in a realistic fur texture. Because of this tedious process, each adorable creature takes almost 20 hours to make! From small rabbits to baby squirrels, each animal creation has a distinctly cute style. But what truly brings them to life is how big and beady she makes their eyes.

Yulia’s passion for crafting wool animals started a few years ago, in 2015. It mainly comes from her major love for animals. Since 2015, Yulia has made hundreds of these tiny toys. Her talent is truly one of a kind. Most of her subjects are forest creatures like rabbits, squirrels, deer, and mice. More recently, she has experimented with other animals like foxes, penguins, koalas, and even hedgehogs. And to make them even more realistic, she photographs her pieces outdoors where they can blend perfectly into the environment.

She’s thrilled to know that her work is finally being noticed.

You can see how much attention she pays to each detail of her piece.

It takes a lot of hard work and patience to finish just one miniature animal.

They look so adorable and cuddly.

You might be thinking that this is the perfect gift idea. The good news is that Yulia occasionally takes orders, so it’s best to keep yourself updated on her Instagram posts and stories. The artist has even shared, “The positive emotions I get when I deliver an order to the customer are very valuable to me; it gives me inspiration.”

Don’t these miniature animals look like characters from a Disney movie?

Kids and adults alike will be drawn to their cuteness.

You can even hold these miniature animals in the palm of your hand.

We’re loving each and every one of her creations.

Yulia serves as an inspiration to aspiring artists who hesitate to show their work because they think they won’t be appreciated. This story is a reminder to all such talented people to work on whatever is close to your heart and make something that you yourself will appreciate before anyone else does. People won’t fail to notice when they see your soul in your work!
