Do opposites attract? Well, Kiwi’s owner thinks so!
This lovebird’s story is as colorful as his feathers. It all started when his owner, Maura T. Hennelly, noticed that her poor bird was lonely. She went about trying to find a mate for him, but sadly things didn’t work out as planned.
Maura decided to rehome the female bird she’d found for Kiwi, leaving the latter alone again. Lovebirds, being extremely sociable animals, tend to get depressed when they live in isolation. Which is why Maura made it her mission to find Kiwi’s soulmate.
Then Siouxsie came along.
With her black and gray feathers, Siouxsie was Kiwi’s polar opposite. But that didn’t stop the two from connecting with one another. And they weren’t the only ones in love. After Maura shared photos of the two birds on Twitter, the internet couldn’t help but swoon! But that wasn’t the end of the story either. Maura proceeded to announce a very special surprise. 19-year-old Maura Hennelly wanted to find her lovebird, Kiwi, a girlfriend. She did, and the relationship started out great.
