As a pet owner, I’ve always loved taking photos of my cats and dogs. Whether they are in an innocent sleeping position or a wacky, tongue-out pose, I make sure to have my camera ready for these glorious moments. And what better way to showcase my photogenic pets than through sharing them on social media.
Aside from the usual pet humor and memes, there’s a social media craze going on wherein people are placing wine glasses, eyeglasses, magnifying glasses and even glass vases in front of their clueless pets then capturing their distorted images.
The owners, of course, are cracking up and sharing these precious images online. These pet-in-glass captures will make us want to have a photo-shoot with our pets 24/7.

This cat looks like she’s about to cry after being trapped in a glass ceiling. Literally.
2 – I Want To Be A Fish
Yes, this is a bird. Seems like it’s tired of being one. It’s wondering what it’s like inside an aquarium.
In these challenging times, watching adorable animals on the internet has become therapeutic. From Instagram cat reels to TikTok raccoon videos, Youtube fox footages, and Facebook doggo memes, there’s no denying that pets are taking over the online world with their cuteness.
Now, lets take a closer look.
3 – You Want To Magnify My Cuteness?
There’s no denying how adorable this bird is with its enlarged head and its tiny body.
4 – What Are You Looking At Hooman?
This cat was definitely caught off-guard. She seemed to be checking out some old CDs when a magnifying glass appeared out of nowhere.
5 – Is This Food?
Big smile! This dog thought that this magnifier was a treat. Look at its tongue pressing on the glass. Cutest one yet!
6 – This Makes You Laugh, Eh?
This orange cat mindlessly nibbles the bottom of the magnifying glass while its owner gazes over its cartoon-like image.
7 – Grrr. Get Away From Me!
We all know that cats have an attitude sometimes. This one looks like she wants some alone time.
8 – Can I Nap In Peace?
Through a pair of eyeglasses, this cat’s face appears to be shrunken. Now it’s judging her owner for disturbing her nap.
9 – I See You!
The classic peek-a-boo. Those harmless round eyes can trick anyone into doing anything.
It’s also worth noting that this isn’t the first time such a craze started. Before in-glass animals, we had in-bread cats. Remember those cute cat photos with bread around their heads? This trend started in 2011 when it was first posted on Tumblr and Reddit. In 2015, a Youtuber uploaded a video of a cat jumping in fright because of a cucumber lying on its side. Pretty soon, we were seeing flying cats all over the internet. Who knew they could be startled like that?
These trends known as “Cat Breading’ and ‘Cats vs Cucumbers’, respectively are now among the most viral humor trends which are now included in the Know Your Meme database.
Moving on.
10 – I’m Not Mad, Just Sad.
There is sadness written all over this cat’s face. You can even see its inverted reflection at the bottom of the glass.
11 – I’m Not Sad, Just Hungry.
You would probably ask, “Why the long face?” This fluffy dog could use a treat. Agree?
12 – You Can’t See Me
This is probably my personal favorite. This cat thought she could hide behind a water dispenser. This image will leave me smiling for days.
The animal glass trend only proves that there’s always gonna be something new in the online animal kingdom. People just keep getting more and more creative. However hilariously absurd the concept is, we always find ourselves loving every bit of it.
